A friend and I were recently lamenting about how rarely we appear in family photos — we are both photographers and always find ourselves on the flip side of the camera. This suits us just fine most of the time! But once in a while it would be nice to make an appearance in family photos… And so are taking matters into our own hands — we’ll be doing photo sessions for one another this summer.
Susannah’s shoot was up first. I met her, her husband Robert and their son Finley for a photo session at the SF Botanical Gardens one foggy, late afternoon. I have to say one thing about San Francisco — as much as I complain about the summer weather, its foggy skies make for some of the best lighting.
Perhaps it’s because his mom photographs him so frequently, but Finley totally knew how to work the camera. And a good thing too, because our session ended up being pretty brief! Finley was all smiles and giggles for a good 40 minutes, after which he put his foot down and let us know it was time to go :)
It was so much fun working with a fellow photographer. I can hardly wait to do our shoot next!
